Chef Nancy Stein is a whole food plant based chef operating from Winter Haven Florida. She is a teaching Chef and Lifestyle trainer who focuses on Health, Wellness and Longevity. She creates and offers new and delicious plant based cuisine and recipes that are both healthy and delicious. With a focus on Health & Wellness, Nancy has been serving the Central Florida area through her company Whole Foods 4 Healthy Living  since 2010. She lectures on nutrition, health & wellness topics, does presentations at health fairs and presents her delicious and nutritious recipes at various events and private gatherings in and around the Central Florida area.

She began her work and studies in plant based nutrition in conjunction with helping her husband, Skip Stein, overcome a death sentenance from a cancer diagnosis.  Nancy received her Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from Cornell University under a program developed by Dr. T. Collin Campbell.  She understands the stresses and challenges of life and how it impacts diet and lifestyle choices.
 
Nancy offers her services to many in the Central Florida area as well as online and works with some of the leading purveyors of Plant Based Lifestyle and Nutrition. These include the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Good Samaritan Village (Kissimmee Florida) and other local health and wellness focused groups. Nancy has given demonstrations of her cuisine and cooking skills at Orlando Earth Day, local health studios and senior living communities.  She is a regular speaker at the Aurburndale Florida International Market Health Fairs and writes for several magazines published by Central Florida Media Group.

Why Plant-Based? Why not?  Whole Plant Foods are complete with all their rich natural compliment of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. They have not been highly processed nor do they contain synthetic, artificial or irradiated ingredients. They are not genetically modified (non-GMO) to contain pesticide components that have undetermined impacts on the human organism. Whenever possible, Whole Foods 4 Healthy Living recommends purchasing "organically grown" foods, since they not only promote your health, but also the health of our planet.
 
Plant-Based Cuisine encompasses more than just avoiding meat, fish, dairy and eggs.  While difficult for many it is pretty darn easy to do these days.  There have been many advances in food preparation techniques and new ingredients not available just a few years ago.  Now, with new kitchen chemistry and techniques, combined with unique combinations of spices, ingredients and textures you can learn how to prepare almost ALL of those delicious meals you have enjoyed all your life.
 
Sometimes the most elegant solution is the most simple.  Why develop heart disease? Cancer? Diabetes? The epidemic of chronic, degenerative disease that is sweeping the western world can not only be stopped, it can be reversed. Meat and dairy are produced by large corporate food systems that inject the animals with an assortment of drugs, growth hormones, antibiotics and so on. The animals are fed a variety of foodstuffs that are not natural to the animals normal/natural condition.  These unnatural foods combined with the drugs and hormones used make meat, fish, dairy and eggs of questionable nutritional value.  The massive amounts of antibiotics used in animal farming plus the over-prescribing of antibiotics by 'doctors' has caused the emergence of SuperBugs that are resistant to use and pose a significant health risk to humans!
 
The end result of much of this is that we have a plentiful food supply that may not be all that good for us!  Naturally and organically grown whole foods are becoming more plentiful.  This is due to the awakening of the American Consumer and the realization that some of our food supply may in fact be harmful.

Often it is More than simple ‘mindset’ that causes one to like or dislike certain foods.  The Flavor and chemical reaction on your taste buds and your body/brain reaction to many processed foods are chemically designed to be Addictive.  So it is much more than just a ‘mind set’ it is a chemical addiction.
 
It is not all that difficult to break that addiction from highly processed addictive foods/flavors to healthier options.  Your taste-buds will slough off in about 14 days, providing a whole new set of flavor sensations; BUT you have to cleanse your pallet and stop the highly processed crap you may have been consuming like dairy/cheeses, sugary sodas and a plethora of other high fat, unhealthy food that is served by those fast food establishments and many restaurants.
 
Like any addiction, there is a period of withdrawal from both the chemical addiction as well as the bad habits formed when consuming the crap that is the majority component of the Standard American Diet. It can be uncomfortable but usually lasts just days to a couple of weeks.  THEN, the miracle begins to happen, you actually start  eating a Whole Food Plant Based diet and TASTING what Real Food tastes like.  It is often a mind-blowing realization that all this wonderful flavor, texture and taste has been missing from your life.  Not only tastes better but is usually Less Expensive than what you have been previously eating!  A true Win-Win situation that will only get Better ’n Better as you begin to explore the vast world of a Whole Food Plant Based Lifestyle.
 
You WILL feel better after a few short days/weeks and after a month or more, you will be amazed!  As you add one day at a time with your Plant Based Lifestyle, you will notice significant changes in your body, mind and spirit!  And it really is SO easy to enjoy delicious Plant Based Cuisine!
